ACA NEOGEO SHOCK TROOPERS 2nd Squad

Aye neo geo is back! get your tokens out.

I can't be entirely sure this was originally meant to be in the same series. The story is completely unrelated, and the gameplay has also changed a bit. I'm not even sure what the final boss's goal is other than being a douche. Instead of rolling to dodge enemy attacks, you simply jump for a half-second of invincibility. You still aim in the same direction you started firing in as long as you hold the fire button down, so you can still move around while attacking the same enemies. I think the close-up attack bonuses are here too. Instead of 8 characters, you just get 4, although they have different default weapons such as spread-shots and lasers. You can also still choose different paths periodically. Also, you can pilot certain vehicles. Shock Troopers 2nd Squad is not a bad game; it's just not great, and what new stuff it does offer doesn't really make up for what it's missing from the first game. On its own, it's a decent game.
