Xatrom Command is very much a homage to SmashTv/Total Carnage but, it's lacking something! As someone who probably spent $50-$80 throughout the years playing SmashTv every chance i got always looking for a worthy Tribute. (At times Xatrom does capture that magic) Weapons are mostly good (but, there's no symbol for what you are picking up) Level Design isn't bad but, to streamlined you must follow the arrows (no secret rooms) Boss battles are ok but, lacking any real substance. Under 30min. You will have the entire 1k Achievement boost (You got to defeat 3 Bosses, Get to the 4th tier and defeat (1) Alien known for that zone! For what it is and the low MSRP it's solid not insulting. If the Devs put a little more within it though it would be memorable. At least have a online co-op option where players duke it out for the high score. SmashTv is in my top 10 Arcade cabinets of all time 34yrs later it's still the beach mark for twin stick shooters.

Lacks the heart and soul of Robotron and Berserk.
Im uncertain why DuckMan must shoe horn nostalgia into every review , gives said game 4/5 why? Simpin for easy gs. Play Xeno Crisis if you want to play a homage to smash tv/ total carnage. This is not a 4/5 it is only serviceable at best. I got the 3pack for half off on sale so worth a couple bucks each game thats fair. Not 6.50 just for this . The game is a room clear shooter with boring enemies and uninspired boss design and just uninspired overall. The weapon pick ups are fairly pointless since all weapons feel the same strength on bosses . This is not the worst 9ratones game like neon power or tp bulletbut or even boring bob , but they have done better. The overall look of the game is ugly feels flat, with no love put into it.
