Atari Flashback Classics Vol. 1

This collection will take you back to where Videogames first started. The 50 games on Volume #1 are pretty enjoyable. The only thing I think that Atari should have done is combine Volume #1 and Volume #2 and called it Atari Anniversary Collection. I recommend both Vol. 1 and 2 to anyone who likes the Retro Age of gaming.

Some games are hard to control. Not as cohesive of a presentation. Disk 1 & 2 should have been on a single disk, combined both games are about 900mb or so. With that said most games play exactly as expected and who doesn't like the idea of earning achievements for original Atari 2600 games. :)

They obviously spent some time and care with this one, don't let it pass you by. This is a retro collection done well. One of the best i've seen. It's about more than just slapping the games on there, it gives you a taste of what these were like when they were new and fresh and bringing them home was almost like having an arcade in your home. The art was there to spark your imagination and send you on your path with the game. You'd read the manual, sometimes with a story or comic in them, study the box and artwork on the way home from the store, and be ready for gaming goodness. Simple compared to todays gaming, but back then these games were just as fun. This set of vol. 1 and 2 definetely reminds me of that. Highlights are vector arcades with decent emulation, manual scans, a homebrew or 2, and even a prototype. Online multiplayer is the cherry on top! (although a ghost town sadly) I only wish we had a way to zoom the box art. Maybe an update?

the collection even features all the original game box art ,not to mention the original manuals.I would say retro lovers need this for their collections.

What can I say, it's good old Atari classics! This is great for those who grew up with Atari way back then & for this generation of kids who never had a chance to be introduced to these classic games that are the reason why the gaming industry is where it's at nowadays.
