Avenging Spirit

This is one of the strangest games I have ever played. It's like the devs took everything a kid would like and threw them in a blender, from ninjas and mercs to robots, gangsters, fire-breathing lizard people, vampires and cloaked cat-people. Some of the bodies you can possess are useless and the platforming is wonky. Despite these things I had a good time playing it. I like the music and the graphics, the art style is pretty unique. It's also an easy 1000 gamerscore. Worth the $5 I paid for it. Recommended.

A fun fairly obscure retro arcade port. A bit short but surprisingly fun action platformer with a semi unique possession based gameplay mechanic that allows you to play as any enemy. Definitely worth checking out for retro fans. Easy Achievements.

Not great, but still fun.

I don't remember this game at all? Avenging Spirit aka Phantasm in Japan is a truly remarkable (early 90's title) Kind of strange though the Japanese title Phantasm© was allowed to use that title Don Coscarelli's Phantasma was a worldwide indie film success! Having that title in the Asian region makes you wonder if it was more classic smoke & mirrors using a established name to "Sell" the game. Regardless what the name its a very ambitious action platformer you can take control of every character on screen (except Bosses) Easy pick up and play action adventure with these small panels/cut scenes when you progress! One of the best real retro titles i played in a while! Its a real buried treasure from the 16bit era!
