Battle Princess Madelyn

Great controls, great music, great story, great art, and ultra fun. Definitely grab this amazing game. 👌

This game is great. Awesome music, perfect controls. Im feeling Ghouls n Ghosts on Sega Genesis, with exploration. Worth every penny. Thank you for making this Gem. What a treat.

Imagine you mixed the level design of Castlevania 2: Simons Quest with the controls and bosses of Ghosts and Goblins. You get a game that has lots of large, straight stretches of land with infinitely respawning enemies that often take multiple hits to kill. Your thumb will tire quickly. Bosses are good though but still have tons of health for how simple their patterns can be. You'll need to rest before bosses to avoid carpal tunnel. It's not a metroidvania. You walk, slowly, around a large hub area and access levels that are mostly linear. Also the upgrades are backwards. I threw three knives at level two in a fan shape but level 3 makes it one knife that I discovered... does exactly as much damage as the level two knives. So you lose a huge area attack to make the knive identical to the lance. The entire game feels like a slog to get through. You can teleport to certain places but that doesn't change that some screens can take 2-3 minutes to walk across the linear, zig zag road.

Story mode stopped saving progress and it's frustrating to play for hours then come back to nothing saved. Keys are used but still displays having them.

Looks and Feels like it could have been made right around the time Super Castlevania 4 and Super Ghouls 'N Ghosts were made. Great graphics, fun gameplay! It has it's challenging moments, but it doesn't feel impossible like the old nes ghost 'n goblins. I've completed the story mode and haven't started the arcade mode at the time of writing this. Story mode is a metroidvania experience: explore how you want, take side quests from npcs, fight optional side bosses to collect different weapons, upgrade weapons and armor, et cetera. Great experience with it so far. Art and Music are Awesome. Kinda sad I'm done with storymode. Oh well, time to sink my teeth into arcade mode! Hope this helps someone.
