The original brick breaker returns with its toughest challenge yet. Survive as long as you can in arcade or take on one of 50 challenges picking up game-changing power-ups along the way.
The good thing about this Breakout is the many different challenge missions that keep the action from feeling too repetitive however, This is definitely not one of ATARI's best efforts for reviving a classic...the paddle control feels too jerky, and no options to adjust it's sensitivity, most of the powerup drops are completely useless, this version of breakout just doesn't have that same charm as the original, the visuals and sound fx are bland and unlively, it gives the whole experience a generic feel...and who the hell thought it was a good idea to have blocks that can shoot you?! It's incredibly annoying to constantly lose a ball because you have to dodge bullets as you're trying to reach the ball...which also creates an issue with the grow powerup, all it does is make it way easier for the shooting blocks to hit you...wtf, you would think that a game with such a simple concept like this one would be hard to screw up, but somehow this one just kinda falls flat

Two small problems.
Needs D-Pad support and some sensitivity tuning only game out of the recharge series I have issue with. Still a strong title.

Control input needs work
Needs D pad ability. Control input feels sloppy and is laggy and jumpy. Keep making these Atari classics. Yars is great.

Achievements cover the paddle
I feel bad for the sorry person who gets the Biding my Time 300 second achievement only to mess up because the popup is right in the path of the paddle. The achievement notification can be placed, you know.
