Candle is an adventure with challenging puzzles. Play as Teku, a young novice on a dangerous journey to rescue his tribe's shaman from the evil tribe of the Wakcha. But the way is littered with sinister traps and difficult obstacles.
Adventure Puzzle game with unique beautiful gameplay.
Beautiful gameplay. The water color backround is outstanding. I like the story line. This is a puzzle adventure game. It flows. The music & the narrator are pleasant. I really enjoyed this game. Very creative. Well Done. It deserves a 5. *

Great Design, Infuriating Gameplay. DO NOT BUY
Got this game for my wife and to play together, thinking it would be a cute and fun game, relaxing even. Boy they got me good. While the watercolor artwork is beautiful and unique, it quickly loses its luster after an hour of sleuthing, with each puzzle/challenge requiring more and more eye-squinting and head-scratching , as the player has to decode what parts of the game's illustrations are interactive vs background. With such a fresh idea for game design in watercolors, it is a shame the developers decided they needed a difficulty level rivaling a Dark Souls rubix cube. Like biting into a mango, only to have a hidden toothpick impale the roof of your mouth. The most enjoyable part of my experience was writing this review, in hopes it would paint a clear, colorful picture, with a warning like a poison tree frog. SheeeeeYEW.

Everything blends in Please read my Review before buyin
Worst puzzle game. You wont be able to get through the first chapter without looking at a walkthrough to help you. You cant even grab stuff out of order that wont even hurt the game flow. Example in the second chapter you'll see a piece of bark that looks like a mask and the narrator points that out. When I try to pick it up the narrator will say "At this time Teku had no interest in it." You have find a blue villager first, then Backtrack to it again. Also the black smith doesn't tell you that you need a metal fragment, instead he asks you to just light his forge. I had to wiki what to do cause I lit his forge only to find out that you needed a metal fragment too. The fragment was impossible to find cause how secret areas blend in. Since the game is 2D everything looks like the background. Unlike PS1 Oddworld where you know the difference between background and foreground. Game is horrible at distinguishing what you can and can't walk or jump on Cause its all 2D

Nice story
It's a decent game. The art and narration are nice. Controls can be kind of finicky. I picked it up on sale, had no regrets about it. It's short, so you should probably get it on sale too.
There's missable achievements so if you don't want to have to play through twice, I'd consult a guide.

Trial and error gameplay not fun
Gave up on this game because it relies heavily on trial and error and not logic. These are not puzzles! With a walkthrough i couldnt get past a challenge 15 minutes into the game requiring precise positioning to avoid a rolling rock. Gorgeous art and music, but who cares if game isnt fun? I dont want to replay the same sequence 20 times to get past it. Uninstalling.
