Really fair RNG with enough checkpoints to keep it from getting too frustrating.
RNG only effects what you find when you flip a card, combat and survival stuff is entirely tactical.
No real complaints here, except I wish there was more challenging content to dig into. Like a hard mode or something.

Simple but addicting
I'll start this off by saying that the game doesn't explain how to do anything. You have to figure it out yourself. But the game is simple enough and you will catch on in no time. The game starts off with you in a city in which you must escape. Gameplay only consists of you picking up cards that are face down like in the trailer. You are required to pick them one by one until you find the "exit" card or another card that leads you to another area, then rinse and repeat. You have an energy and health meter that both start off at 10. Every time you pick a new card your energy depletes by 1 and once your energy reaches 0, you will start to lose health by 1. The only way to replenish your energy is to use a vaccine or use a health kit obtainable only from cards. The cards consist of a number of different categories to either assist or hinder you on your journey to complete the game. I still haven't beat the game but I'm enjoying it.

Card Flip Surprise
There are three survivors with intertwining stories, each tasked with enduring zombie attacks while accomplishing their personal goals. Areas have random cards appear on the screen, flipping them over can reveal resources, weapons or enemies. Strategy comes from how these cards are utilized because they have radomized stats such as weapon damage/durability, how much health is healed or even how much health/attack damage an enemy has. It's also important to know when to stay and when to run once the exit card is found. The learning curve starts off easy while understanding how to play but there can be some tough encounters. This is due to different enemy types, some of which have unique abilities. Should death occur, it's back to the start of the current area unless a safe house was found. Cards of the Dead offers enough variety to keep itself going and hopefully there is more to come. Overall not a long game but this style was interesting and fun to play.
