Unlike in the first game, the dice that you use for every action can degrade and break over time, requiring resources to repair. It's a neat idea, except for one problem: you can't repair a die until it fully breaks, and dice can only break on story missions. This leads to a late-game problem wherein you have degraded dice that will inevitably break during the final missions, making your desired ending impossible to achieve.

Be very careful when you are in your ship. It is super easy to accidentally hit the 'end cycle' option. I did this early so nbd (🤞🤞) but I could see this ruining a playthru at later, more critical moments. How about a confirm button on that eh developers?

3.8 average rating is absolutely criminal. The first game was great and the sequel is even better. Do not play this if you haven't played the original, as it glosses over things to not waste fans' time. The story picks up at the end of 1 and relies on previous knowledge sometimes. That said, this game improves on the formula well. Give it a try.
