Crimson Spires

The story and world really draw you in. I loved the voice acting. It brought everyone to life wonderfully. I rarely play every route of a game but I had to know what would happen with Crimson. Its like a binge worthy tv show.

A good story with plenty of mysteries that hooked me until the very end. Considering it has multiple paths that can be chosen, it has pretty great replay value. Every path reveals a little more and more about what's really going on. My only gripe is that for how good the story is, there are still a lot of loose ends and mysteries that are never truly solved. Almost like the developers were sequel baiting, but I've heard they don't intend to make a sequel. What a shame, as they have created such a rich world only to leave so many loose threads. Like who truly made the towers, who Lucius Christ really is, what is the monster you see at the beginning of the game, and what has really become of the world after the 'Contingency'. All in all a good game like I said, I would definitely recommend to anybody looking for a good VN. Just be prepared to have a lot of questions and mysteries left unanswered.

I don't really like western otomes and this game is exactly why. I made it through two routes and cannot stomach more. If you like teen drama and watching awful people rationalize evil behavior then look no further. This game needs a content warning so here's what the supposed heroine did in the routes I finished: condoned and then participated in an incestuous love triangle, romanced murderers, condoned and encouraged violent and then sexual vengeance for her wounded ego after she got caught committing B&E and beat up, serving up a scapegoat to the town for a murder they didn't commit, and inserting herself and her serial killer partner as dictators of the town. None of these characters had dreams, redeeming qualities, or personal goals beyond solving the immediate mysteries or venting their emotions. Characters would flip viewpoints within heartbeats, telling you murder is wrong then saying that the same murder should have happened when he wanted it to. This isn't even good trash.

Very replayable w lots of content. Writing is amazing as well.

Don't care about achievements. The game itself is a lot of fun with an interesting story. August route is the best!
