Strong underlying game with room to grow
More 4.5 stars than 5 as of right now. Pros: Nails the blend between a pick-from-3 roguelike and a simplified X-Com/Tactics experience. Good straightforward gameplay and a tough but manageable difficulty curve. Cons: Not quite optimized for console, shows in a handful of UI quirks. You can't easily reference what powerups you currently have. Also a little light on content in terms of build options and metaprogression. Overall, if the idea of the game sounds fun to you, it's worth it for $15 and if they continue to push updates then the foundation is strong enough to see this maybe becoming a standout title in the genre.

Roguelike xcom
Yes that includes missing 4 90%+ shots in a row, but my bigger issue is the curency from killing bosses adds a huge pain for progress. 1 per. Boss 15-20 minutes to get to and defeat one, 3 required for any option (havent got too many there could be later ones that cost more) means an hour could get one upgrade, and that might just be unlock more upgrades to spend them on so 2 hours for one that actually effects the game. Just feels unreasonable when theres a separate currency that feels way better cause you have a chance to get 5 in one drop. Can pull 10+ for every 1 of the other and most options are less than 30 so idk why they felt the need for 2 different currencies

Bullet-Sponge Slog
This is a beautiful, minimalist TTB roguelite. It's very easy to learn, but the grind is excruciating. Enemies level up with you, so there's almost never a feeling of reward for getting upgrades, and without a lucky synergy almost every enemy is a tank, so gameplay often devolves to running around for a good-angled shot. Add in the XCOM 85% curse (basically a miss) and levels start taking forever, and there are so, so many. It'll scratch that tactical itch, and it is fun — just not consistently.
