Plays like a castlevania in ways and I like that it does. (For me at least). Three stats that you can choose which one point to put in after each level up to decide how you want your build. Gear upgrades bought with money that unlocks further new gear upgrades. Bonus money given even when you die based on kills and how many levels cleared etcetera. Boss fights challenging in a non argh kind way. Overall, a great action rpg that is sure to become an instant classic to those of us who appreciate these retro throwbacks of days old where gaming had a true core. Thank-You, Devs.

A FUN GRIND WITH EASY CHEEVOS
Currently deleting more of the big budget garbage off my hard drive to make more space for indie games like this one, DEVIOUS DUNGEON is a great example of a retro inspired platformer done right, it's style is very reminiscent of the old NES games from back in the day I'm an older gamer that grew up on stuff like this and over the past few years been having way more fun and enjoyment from the indie titles than most of the so-called AAA big budget games that are nothing more than DLC paywall, greedy cash grab garbage these days...let's keep supporting the indie DEVS and send a message to the greedy fat cats that we ain't buying their trash anymore...and now that I'm done ranting, let me just say that DEVIOUS DUNGEON is absolutely outstanding 10/10 fun and enjoyment all day long

25 death cheevo applies to one save file
I completed the game with only 10 deaths but i had 2 achievements left, the 100 keys and 25 deaths. i got 24 more keys to reach 100 in my main game, then opened a 2nd game for 10 death and a 3rd game for more than 5 deaths. I now hav. 29 deaths stat but so called achievement didn't pop. My save files had 10 , 10 and 9 deaths. The achievement is NOT cumulative across saves.

It's great that players giving this game a high score enjoyed it, but I have to counter the 4-5 star reviews with some reality.
The trailer is way better than the actual gameplay and über simplistic design.
Claims vs Reality:
"Feat. 5 Worlds" - Yes, but worlds are extremely similar and TINY. 1 to 3 minutes to clear a level = Only a few hours play time.
"RPG-Styled upgrades" - Massive stretch. You buy weapons & gear in the order you are allowed to buy them. They all do the same basic thing (boost 3 stats). All weapons are melee with no interesting attacks, for example.
"Mission System" - Kill x number of enemy y. Break crap. Some you'll have to travel backward to get.
"Collect Loot" - Coins worth 1-3 gold plus 'secret' gem chest locations.
"Level Randomization" - Major stretch. Various layouts? Yup. Extremely small and similar? Yup. Challenging? Only when dodging missile attacks - from outside the tiny view area. Bosses? Easy. No difficulty levels.
