If I am being completely honest, I wasn't expecting this to be very good. On the surface it has a very "developer's first game" look, and the monsters shown on the title menu and sprinkled throughout the game look like cheap Halloween props targeted towards children.
But hidden behind that and the indie graphics is a legitimately good horror game. Great art, mostly great voice acting, creepy villians, lots of gore, lots of puzzles and files, and more than a few endings that require multiple playthroughs.
It's one of those pretty great indie games you have to search through a sea of mediocrity to find. Well done to the developers, and to any horror game fans who are put off by the "cheap" look of it, give it a try anyway with an open mind.

It's A Madhouse In Here
David, the most recent kidnapped child of a twisted killer who enjoys watching his victims solve puzzles and evade monstrosities to escape. Throughout the journey as David, you'll find keys, pull levers and solve various puzzles to progress through a grotesque and creepy environment. There's also notes to collect and tapes to play to get a better understanding of the story and perhaps a clue to move on. Some areas will have you being stalked by things you don't want finding you. Achievements are very easy but multiple play throughs are required for there's different endings. However, the game is quick and easy once you know how to get through the areas. To get the different endings, a choice must be made. This is where a cool game design feature takes place depending on how well you searched through areas because that determines which ending path you can take. Each ending path has unique events and dialogue the others don't have. Don't Be Afraid is a decently creepy game to experience.

Seriously Terrifying
One jump scare in and my heart is racing! I love all things horror, but freaked me out. It's like I have the key and I'm in front of the lock, but I just know that I'm about to be scared. They show you how to run in the first room for a reason! You knw I'll be making my friends play this in the dark! 1000/10 will recommend!!
