Don't let him in

Interesting premise and a good aesthetic, but when every third dialogue box is inexplicably "Press A to Continue," it really distracts from the immersion... which is the entire point of horror games like this. On top of that, there is a GIANT sanity meter that seems to live in the middle of the screen, totally distracting from the atmosphere. For some reason, this constantly and rapidly drains, meaning you essentially have a level timer on what should be an enjoyably slow paced horror. James cannot walk across a parking lot without having to pick up 10 arcadey pill bottle pickups to stay sane when literally nothing is actually happening. It's clear the devs have played Silent Hill 2 and like to reference it. You play as a guy named James with a green jacket and a Vietnam-era pocket flashlight, who reaches into a toilet without hesitation at the beginning of the game. The hotel sign font looks like Heaven's Night. So why cripple the atmosphere with this sanity meter?

Game is broken

Played through almost all of the game, and when i got to the boss fight the shotgun wouldn't fire and softlocking me from progressing.

I played for about 45 mins before getting frozen behind an invisible wall. The atmosphere and gore are not without its charms but the writing is atrocious, and not in a fun way. Also I couldn't save the game so I will not "try again." I bought this on sale and was totally ripped off. Please only let FINISHED and TESTED games be for sale on Xbox.

Very short game with lots of bugs - the biggest being that the final confrontation doesn't function and glitches out. Shotgun won't fire, game does not progress, and can only force quit. Was funny and entertaining till then. Update 12-16-24 - Patched. Shotgun works now.
