Double Cross

Didn't know this was coming out and knew nothing about it, but I'm glad I took the chance. Platforming is great. I can see speedrunners liking this. Slinging yourself around with the proton slinger is really fun. The combat has light and heavy attacks. Also has a dodge with a window of I-frames utilized in the combat and platforming. Collect "upgradium" to level up and unlock new abilites. Some of these are passive and permanent, others are abilites you can switch out and have up to three of them active at once. Each dimension is split into levels. It's not open world, but the levels do have secrets to find. A little like 1/2 Genie Hero, Megaman X. The writing is goofy in a good way. Like the Shantae games, it doesn't take itself too seriously. Talk to the other NPC's occasionally for side stuff. You're a Rift agent, part of an interdimensional organization trying to keep the peace and prevent potential disasters from crossovers between multiple dimensions. Enjoy!

I really enjoyed this game overall, good character design, good art style, and the game felt good to play. The only thing I can think to complain about is that there isnt a sequel!

So got this game in a sale on here, and must say I enjoyed it greatly. It is short, with some parts that were difficult, but nothing hair pulling mad or anything and all of it was fun. I will not the movement system was pretty unique and was a highlight, I would like to see more platformers. Combat was not great, felt a little too much for the enemies in game to handle, the dodge though was well implemented. The art stlye was great, it really gave the feel for something sci fi like. Story felt like it was a bit rushed in a few scenes, but it was a good one with lots of potential. I totally could see this as a series of shows, books and more games. Overall, if you like platformers and looking for one, try this game out. It was great. Well done to the team.

Double Cross is simply fantastic. It's got engaging, creative gameplay, perfect controls, and a fun world with charming characters and snappy dialogue. It's also, thankfully, stage-based; no tedious Metroidvania here! One of the best sidescrollers of the generation - do not sleep on this one. If you are even slightly interested in the looks of this, or have enjoyed other sidescrollers like those from Wayforward (Shantae, Mighty Switch Force, etc.), pick this up. You won't regret it!

This a fun game that has fantastic level design and platforming. The game has some unfortunate flaws, such as a mediocre combat system, which is accompanied by interesting but non-memorable characters. Unfortunately, it also has mechanics that could be flushed out more, such as the investigation system, that aren't. Overall, it is a very enjoyable game that is definitely worth your time.
