Final Star

This is a GREAT shoot-em-up!! Challenging, but fair. The levels are short, so memorizing enemy spawns and patterns will help you clear levels quickly. There are 3 different ships and lots of upgrades. There's almost like a survival horror element to this game. I didn't build up properly my first time playing, so I restarted and realized it was best to try to earn mods for one specific ship. I feel like most shmups just torture you until you quit. The levels in Final Star are short and each time you progress farther. At no point did I feel like I was stuck, and there was always a way to make myself stronger. Very well designed game, and there are a ton of missions.

This game could be awesome. But you have no chance from the get go. Theres no options and you have no chance to upgrade your ships before the missions get progressively harder, so your stuck with beginning levels of firepower, but missions are already mid level. Devs need to do some serious updates. The game is unbalanced so stay away till they patch it up.

Some of these reviews are hilarious. Complaining about the difficulty?? Wow...you can tell who the kids are. As far as shooters go, this has a pretty average difficulty. It's definitely not one of the harder ones, though it does offer a good challenge. Took me around 8 hours to do all 3 playthroughs to get 100%. I plan on trying to stream an impossible playthrough. Now that one DOES offer a serious challenge. I like the game. Most shooters are around 20-30 minutes to complete. I like how I can do missions in the order i want. I like how upgrades are permanent. I like experimenting with different skill upgrades. I like doing triple laser > cannon > bomb > shield > cannister missile. That's a good order for a new player.

Ignore the 1 star reviews. They are either trolling or suck at video games in general. I'm an average gamer and was able to get all the achievements (including complete the game 3 times) within 6 hours. The game is fun and only challenging if you don't read how to play the game or upgrade your ship. Great SHMUP !

OMG! The 1st mission is rated 1/2 star difficulty and you die almost right away. I regret this purchase. Save your money and buy something playable thats not going to act like it hates the person playing it. Such freakin crap.............you cant replay levels to build up xp,this is such garbage.
