Golden Force

What is w/ almost every indie dev that makes a retro game not knowing a single thing about actual retro games & what made them good? Its always the same garbage design choices of overtly stacking the deck against you, making everything overpowered & tedious w/ your character being weak & useless. Then there's the absurd long-winded platforming w/ an endless array of insta-death traps & "Gotcha!" schemes that everyone falls prey to because no one EVER expects them, requiring the absolute perfect run after memorizing all the traps a 100x over. We also can't forget the sparse checkpoints that barely exist. Oh, and the mega sponge enemies/bosses. Imagine trying to break a concrete wall w/ a tree branch. That's you fighting anything in this game. When the player purposely tries to avoid enemies because it's less a hassle to speedrun to the end, it means you made a trash game. Seriously indie devs, stop making retro games that "you think" inspired you because most of you are so clueless.

I can see how this can be entertaining for some. Enemies weren't worked on enough.
