Iron Crypticle

The Smash TV feel hits you right away but it is far from a cheap clone. It's got this really satisfying combo system. Certain monsters drop score items. The first item you pick up will net you 100x1. Each subsequent item will add one more to the multiplier, until you reach 100x8, after which, any items you pick up will continue to give you 100x8's. If you get enough of those, It will drop a random stat upgrade, for the rest of that playthrough. These can also be bought in shops with coins collected but can be expensive. Get hit or take too long between pickups, and the combo resets. This encourages combo play and is an incredibly addictive hook. Your default weapon are throwing axes, which gets the job done, but there are more effective temp weapons which are great for crowd control. More of these are unlocked after successive playthroughs and on higher difficulties which gives you incentive to tackle those. Endless and NG+ modes with 1-4p couch co-op sweeten the pot. Worth the 10$ !!

It's a fun game, but very unforgiving if you don't clear a room in time. When you don't clear the rooom in time it starts to feell up with invincible creatures, even during boss fights this happens. It could have been more fun if during boss fights there wasn't a time penalty. Also upgrades are too few, it seems like the regular weapon is just entirely to slow. You can buy upgrades usually before you encounter the boss, but there is no guarantee you will have enough coins to be able. One life no retries, once you die you start completely over. No extra life pick ups no mercy. Even on easy this game can be hard for those that aren't use to it. BUT, besides all that the game is still fun.

With games like Binding of Isaac and Enter the Gungeon, it's hard to recommend this game over them. It is a decent game though and is good mindless fun done in the vein of games like Smash TV. The controls are simple and responsive but the graphics are a bit dull. There are a few corny lines of dialog and that is all you will get story wise. Not much else to say really. There is nothing ground breaking here but it is a fun twin stick shooter for a decent price. 7 out of 10.

Always loved dungeon crawlers. Right up there with Zelda n Gungeon.

a challenging game, akin to the old days of not having your hand held. There is plenty of loot to grab, monsters to kill, and bosses to make you start over haha.
