Ironcast

great game. dont understand what all the 1 stars are for. honestly if you are a turnbased strategy fan, you will luv this! it has rogue like & match 3 type gameplay but at its core ,its a turnbased stategy game. it has a nice steampunk art style too!

Essentially a simple turn based RPG with your mech as your character and a match 3 game for resources. The problem is the combination of permadeath, RNG; and very uneven enemy strength. Permadeath: Lose a fight, you start over. RNG: With only 4 basic resources, its amazing how often the one you need dries up. Enemies: Worst part of the game. You are told a battle's difficultly before selecting it, although I've only seen medium and hard. Medium can mean one enemy with 400 HP and weak weapons or 2 each with over 1000 HP and weapons that hit for 150+. You don't earn enough in game currency in early fights to upgrade enough to keep up with this. The in game economy feels corrupted in a way that feels intended to push microtransactions, but I don't think it has any, so all it does is frustrate you.

Very enjoyable puzzle game with an easy to grasp strategy involving managing attack and defensive power. My greatest complaint is that the game is a bit too random at times with what type of gems it spawns and what equipment you win. This makes some runs of the game nearly impossible to progress very far. It is fun to keep coming back with the permanent stat increases you buy after each failure and see how much farther you can get.

Great concept but is so off balace the game is impossible to beat

To the point: there are no easy missions even at the very start of the game. You can only take three turns before the enemy attacks and they never miss. The selection area becomes filled with things you don't need for that turn. You can't abort a mission for another one, you have to completely end the game. For a game that has some good ideas and storyline behind it, it has a seriously flawed execution. I don't EVER want to try playing this again.
