KYURINAGA'S REVENGE

This game is the epitome of stubbing your toe on a metal corner of a bed, the gameplay is unsatisfactory and has an abysmal story line.

I rarely ever write reviews bc it takes so long to do with a damn controller, but im doing it for this game because it is actually very well made given it's a low budget game, I loved the hidden collectibles and traps, and the difficulty is just right imo, its no cuphead, but its not too easy where it gets boring. I also just love the art style and drawings, props to the devs for that. It feels and looks like an old N64 game. Im a fan of Japanese culture which is a bonus, but still this game looks uniquely pretty, almost like Okami. I got for 2 mf dollars and woulda happily paid at most 12. Short game, mediocre story, but a quality and enjoyable classic N64-like experience. Def not a bad game especially forr $2 on sale

Kyurinaga's Revenge is the sequel to Yasai Ninja. You reprise the roles of the heroes from the first game and need to stop Kyurinaga... again. Only this time, the game is a side scrolling platformer instead of a hack'n'slash. Which I think hurts it because the levels are more frustrating than they are fun. One mistake or hit and you restart the last checkpoint. Meaninig hard level sections and boss fights have to be done in one attempt. The hack'n'slash part got replaced by a QTE fight style where you have to press the correct button sequence to defeat enemies. This too can be frustrating as some enemies attack so fast, it's near impossible to get all of them. There are two boss fights which almost made me quit. One involving the entire fight around the QTE fight sequence. I understand the developer trying new things but when you take out what made the first game fun instead of adding to it, you lose all the charm it had. This sequel is too many steps back to recommend.

Yasai Ninja was bad enough, but this one is absolutely terrible. Only spent $2 on both. Regret getting this one
