Last Beat Enhanced

This is not specified in-game and isnt how upgrades usually work. This means if u try to combine any, u only get the last one. They do not persist after continue or upon switching characters. Any grinding for upgrades apart from the 2 unlockable chars, is a waste and useless. The correct term is 'one-run buff', not an actual upgrade. This turned what was a 4 star game into disappointment. 2.5 stars

It also looks good (for what it is) on a big tv, which was a concern. It was also hard to see how it would be more than briefly fun but have had a hard time putting down the controller, which is suprising with how simple what this is, especially with how repetative which is to be expected of a button mashing brawler. It's not among the best in the last decade but it's fun & hard to stop if you just wanna turn off your brain and bash heads for a bit. I find this more fun than the NES Double Dragon games. Money tip: uprgades are temporary so use the money to unlock the 2 fighters (lizard is unlocked by beating a certain stage). Stage with bird flying has secret room. Kill the bird & ramp appears on background (go to it). Get hit combo high as possible before collecting it to increase it's amount. Use a female fighter for higher combo. Do same for money dropped in stage, raise up combo before picking it up. Stage 1 has secret room too I'm glad got this & ignored my hesitation to do so.

Kinda reminds me of old NES beat 'em ups. Controls are really simple and theres a sweet spot if you stand a little above or a little below the enemies when attacking. Theres a store to purchase upgrades to make the game even easier. Every enemy you kill banks you a little cash plus theres cash pick ups if you break items. It's a pretty easy 1000, not too pricey and I enjoyed the time I spent with it. Just don't expect a whole lot of depth if you play this.

Last Beat Enhanced is pure 8bit nostalgia! Is that good or bad??? That all depends on your age imo. Something about it is more Sega Master System then NES! It plays pretty good for what it is a homage to the 8bit era! For a very retro beat 'em up its enjoyable

This game plays exactly like you'd expect. Not sure what people mean in regards to collision and AI. Everything plays like a classic beat 'em up and the AI don't do anything different here. You're looking at a quick one hour 1000G for achievements and around 3-4 hours if you complete the entire game with all of the bells and whistles. I had a good time & knew what to expect. In terms of what this game is and the budget for it; 5 stars!
