Leila

This game is like life: short, sweet, and full of lessons. Despite this game being quite short (about 1 hour and 15 minutes), you learn years-worth of information about the character through fitting and fulfilling puzzles that both symbolize what is happening and drive home each part of this endearing glimpse into the ups and downs of life. This is a developer with a vision and a determination to share an experience, not just take your money. Leila is a game you can enjoy regardless of who you are or where you're from. By covering real world topics without over-extending itself or becoming dull, Leila very modestly proves the journey is more important than the destination.

Part point & click, part meta-textual dive into an internal narrative. Leila is a story of self-reflection, trauma and finding peace, if not forgiveness in meaning. The controls and goals are both awkward but seem designed so deliberately as part of the immersion in the emotions and conflicts Leila wrestles with. Not every gamer will find the experience so relatable but if you've the years and mileage to struggle with the harsh difficulty of confronting 'who you are' or 'should be', self-forgiveness and gratitude Leila is worth the effort, as are you. 💙 PS- Initially interested in the art style and intrigued by the story, I was ultimtely moved to purchase this one after reading the review ''worst game ever played... Story is all men are terrible'' just to spite the reviwer and everyone who 'liked' that fine example of why gamers and gaming have such a negative reputation. 😁 After playing to completion, if that was their takeaway it says a GREAT deal more about them than the game.

Beautifully done. Ignore the haters. You need to finish the game to understand 💕 Please continue to make heart-felt games like this one. Thank you 😊
