Lords of the Fallen Complete Edition (2014)

I never played Dark Souls, etc., so this game was a challenge for me at first. Once I took my time and learned the mechanics of attacking, dodging, and magic, the game was a blast. Amazing atmosphere, sound, and graphics. Recommended.

Great visuals. Challenging gameplay. Scary dark atmosphere (good job with that!) Decent customization. Beat it once, started the playthrough+1, lost interest. Unmemorable story. I worked hard to beat this game and truly enjoyed it, then never felt compelled to play it again. Overall would recommend.

If you like playing Dark Souls and are looking for more, give it a go. Much better than a 3 Star rating. May not be as difficult as the Souls series, but not by much. Still tough for the average gamer, but still a rewarding challenge for a Souls fan. Deserves 4 Stars but I'm giving 5 to help it's ridiculous average rating of 3.1.

This game is fun and has a lot of redeeming qualities such as giving you explanations on game mechanics and letting you know youre next objective. I like to refer to this game as fair Dark Souls. It doesnt have all the bs and cryptic puzzle solving that Dark Souls has which can be nice but on the other hand the game doesn't feel as rewarding as a result. Id recommend it to anyone who thinks Dark Souls is fun but a little too much.

So what if it's a Souls-Like? So is Nioh. Here the experence multiplyer gives good reason to not constantly bank exp and instead to actually take risks. I'm that Demon's Souls player that sports a Great Sword and eschews the mage-crescent falchion build and so this game feels just right, not "Slow" at all, especially not with agility based weapons, like staffs, which rock and have greater fluidity than anything in Souls, and fist weapons. The atmosphere is wonderful too, really engaging level design gave me the desire to leave no door locked. Perhaps a game more for the Bloodborn sort than traditonal Souls zealots.
