Lovecraft's Untold Stories

I gave this game 5 stars to offset it only having 3, I can't understand how it only has 3 stars and nagative reviews. This game is AWESOME! This is one of my favorite ROUGELITE RPGs right under Children Of Morta. All the negative reviews are either from people who dont understand the RougeLite exsperence that you have to do runs and if you die or quiet you loose some items {you only loose items if you quit in the middle of the run) the runs can be long but they are fun as hell! I have not had a single bug in this game, and any rougelite fan should love this horror game and any Lovecraft fan will love the insane amount of lore and character references you will get in this game... or wonderful peace of art.

This game has a good style and is fun to play. The music creates a good atmosphere and I love the pixel graphics. However the games save feature does not work 90% of the time as you need to find a save box either mid level or in the hub of the main game but if you close the game or turn off your system you can be started back two to three levels and the levels are LOOONNGGGG so starting all over is just to exhausting and the suspend feature doesn't work.

Played it for 12hrs, TONS of lagging. While midgame, it exited to xbox menu and erased ALL game progress back to where it was at 1hr of play. Great game, but some bugs gotta get worked out. Pressing continue erases any new games/progress, and picks up at the first playthrough. Wasted hours getting my items and unlocked characters again, only to lose it all again. FIX THE SAVE/CONTINUE FEATURE (maybe add save slots?)

The game DOES NOT SAVE PROPERLY. I had beaten Dr Clawstone's campaign only to return to the game a month later to find ALL my progress had erased down to level 2. this was the second time this happened. There's a slew of other bugs, including invisible/unkillable enemies that leave you stuck indefinitly in a room, doing certain moves makes your player completely unresponsive and you have to start all over, and even the fact that in the PS4 version, your keys are seperate from the rest of your inventory, freeing up slots for more items; but in the XB1 version your keys are part of your normal inventory, taking up tons of space. its really a huge shame. if not for these bugs, it would be pretty good. it badly BADLY needs to be patched severely, but the developers dont seem interested in making a any kind of update for XB1. UPDATE: I was able to contact the developer and they actually HAVE an update for the game, but Microsoft isn't accepting it for whatever reason. Great going, MS.

Coming from rougelike games like Endless Dungeon, Darkest Dungeon, Enter the Gungeon, Wizrd of Legend, and Immortal Redneck to name a few I snatched this up when I seen it. After playing for several hours I personally feel like this isn't much of a rougelike but more of a ARPG. Upon dying you are given the choice of restarting the area, going to the hub, or main menu. The game feels really easy on normal with little in the way of weapons or gear(There is alot of junk items). Just a little sprinkled here and there. Which means alot of rinse and repeat. The bosses so far are interesting but not challenging. The atmosphere is done very well as well as the story. My biggest disappoint is the (rougelite) description. I am only 5 chapters in, so my views could change. If you're a fan of Lovecraft I'd suggest the game. If you're here for another rougelike I'd pass or wait for a sale. Will update as I go.
