Machine Gun Fury

If you're in the market for a modern retro inspired take on classics like Commando, Contra & Ikari Warriors, then Machine Gun Fury is an optimal choice. The top down action is satisfying, and I especially liked the destruction effects. The vehicle levels don't reach the same heights for me, and the absence of local co-op in a game like this is a missed opportunity. Quibbles aside, the pros definitely out weigh the cons. It's an easy recommendation for the low price 😎👌

Commando, Contra, Jackal, Cobra Triangle, Metal Gear, GI Joe

Its legit, throwback to the happy days of gaming. The game has tight controls, awesome artwork and a soundtrack that will have you feeling like its Christmas in 1992. Games like this will be gone one day, enjoy these while you can. This game is a challenge even on easy.

Awesome game with great controls! Takes me back to the 80s. Clearly inspired by the NES games Commando, Contra, & Metal Gear. My only minor complaint is that the game is very short. It is so good that I truly wish there was more of it. I hope this gets a sequel.

One life. That's all you get. You die? You go back to the beginning. It is a quality title, major Ikari Warriors and Commando vibes. Just be prepared to be sent back to the beginning again and again.
