Memory Link

Memory Link isn't necessarily bad but, it was made for a rediculous fast 1K Achievement boost (Under 10min.) it's just a very average/basic platformer nothing more nothing less...

Memory Link is a platforming game that reminds me of Flash-based games. Visually simple and monochrome, but serviceable. The view is usually zoomed in too close, especially with the large levels and it wanting you to hunt for collectibles. Storyline tries to be the arty 'no story but the environment', like Limbo or Inside. No text or instructions aside from very few controller icons. Controls are simple, could be better. Platforming is forgiving, so the just-okay jumping isn't painful. The cat checkpoints are often enough, but you lose collectibles on death since last save. Achievements end after the first level. Quick 1000 GS, but no incentive to continue. Gave the second area a chance. After a bit, it walls off the way you came. I went up the first ladder, then passed an altar i couldn't interact with. Lots of platforming over hazards, I found another altar and a dead end. With a save right before, so I cannot return and am now stuck. No reason left to play any more.

Purchased Memory Link because the look of the game reminded me of LIMBO and gameplay is similar but that's it. After unlocking all the achievements in chapter 1, I played a bit of chapter 2 but stopped. For Achievement Hunters, getting the 1k Gamerscore will be easy and quick if you speed through the level.

Basic platformer with mostly monochromatic visuals. Platforming elements are ok other than some awkward design choices with knowing what platforms can be jumped on. The huge downside to this game is it looks like you can be locked out of progression by reaching dead ends and not being able to get back to a central area. I usually try to complete every game I play, even past the easy achievement completions, but this I just tapped out on, wasn't worth the effort in my opinion. Easy Achievements
