With some truly great 8-bit artwork, this game runs about an hour and a half and is a fun little visual novel. It's very much inspired by pulp novels and moves along at a fair pace. It's the gaming equivalent of watching a fun b-movie.
Gameplay is text based - occasional choices here and there and a handful of puzzles. The story is split up into chapters and each chapter is from the perspective of one of the four main characters (changing each chapter). Not a lot of replayability, but cheap.

Great Game
It's a short game, but I really enjoyed it. I look forward to seeing more from LCB!

The legacy of the Monthman of 1966
The West Virginia sightings of the Mothman in 1966 and aftermath is very surreal (it's this strange Paranormal event) That maybe 10% of the general public even know about (Which is a shame) Adapting the events of 1966 into a video game is a ****-shoot due to how underground it is.Everyone else is reviewing it as propaganda media! Seriously you have no clue what real propaganda is using McCarthyism buzz words doesn't make it true. Mothmen 1966 takes places during the original sightings and adds various twist to the events much like the film Mothman Prophecies (2002) did. I'd suggest doing a internet dive into the real life events before you even buy this game. If you know the backstory you'll actually appreciate whats going on and see more value in the Legacy of Mothman & Point Pleasant! While its easy to laugh the entire thing off, there's more questions then answers the sightings in 1999 Moscow tells you this ain't no shared delusion

Intriguing and different
I have to say - I really like Mothman! It's one of my favourite cryptids.
It's quite short but very enjoyable experience. Mix of visual novel with card game, maybe even a bit of tower defence. All made in ZX Spectrum's limited color palette, with matching music and GREAT writing. If you actually pay attention to the story, you'll notice that the sentences are great and can easily get stuck in your head.
So weird. So good. Can't wait to play more Pixel Pulps!

Good, but leaves you wanting more...
For what it is Mothmen 1966 is a decent game though after finishing it leaves you wanting more. Not just more content but more story, more background, more mothmen! Honestly Mothman feels under used, and adding or using the Mothman mythos coulda made the story more interesting. If you have time to kill then give this a try, the solitaire is especially fun. Also the reviewers saying this is propaganda due to one passing mention of abortion are idiots.
