Nerd Survivors
Heartbit Interactive · Action & adventure
Use explosive pizzas, enchanted fidget spinners or a katamari of monsters to fight countless enemies hordes! Repair the "Forge of Destiny" and craft the ultimate custom weapon in this comedy action rogue-lite survivor.
Review after 33 hours and 100% completion. Seems very promising at first, but is ultimately a mid-tier Survivorlike. A heavy emphasis on grind with very little reward. Unlockable characters aren't more powerful, there are zero Weapon/Class Evolutions, there are very few secrets on the 3 map biomes (9 small maps in total), and there is no further developer support. Level 3-1, Lampyridae, has been broken since launch, and there has been no attempt to fix it.
Instead of the genre standard 'Evolutions' (matching a weapon and class perk to unlock a more powerful spell, NS has a Forge, where you can minimally tinker with unlockable spells. Unfortunately, nothing ever outshines the standard combo of Shields and Fartomancy available from the outset. NS is not bad. It can be fun. It's just nothing more than that. 2.5/5
The original VS, Army of Ruin, Soulstone Suvivors (PC) and Twilight Survivors (Switch) all offer more complete experiences with continued dev support.

Sub-par Survivorlike
As others have said... hard crashes on Lampyridae, minimal unlocks and none are any better/more interesting than starting weapons and buffs, only 3 maps with 3 tiers of difficulty each, no weapon evolutions whatsoever, the forge mechanic is an interesting concept with lackluster execution (would be better if you could tweak any weapon instead of 3 different types of blank slates).
At only $8, price seems like a silly thing to gripe about, but I think its worth mentioning when Vampire Survivor is $5 with significantly more content, and, even more curiously, the mobile version of Nerd Survivors is $1.50 with (presumably) the exact same content as the buggy console version, so I'd like to know the justification for being more than 5x the price.
For me, rogues live and die by the amount of "stuff" in them, and this one just doesn't have much. With one of the three stages broken, its hard to recommend even as a time waster. Go buy Army of Ruin. Same price, way more content.

Great game but...
Needs to be patched Asap. Introduces some good ideas but ALWAYS crashes at lvl 3. Worth playing at the price but should not have launched in this state
