Great Short Expansion for People Who Like the Game
Probably only around 4-5 hours added if you want to 100% the new colosseum challenges and max the new forms. My only complaint is you earn the forms through the colosseum, but if your returning after completing the game there is nothing to use the new forms on as the challenges are challenging focusing on problem solving through your build crafting with this games unique combination of different forms abilities. Might be fun to run another NG+ with new forms after fully completing the Tempering.

Clarification on the content.
This DLC contains 2 new forms and a new section of the map called the colosseum. The colosseum contains 12 challenges where you can earn up to 3 stars, bronze to gold. While the enemies adapt to your level, the challenges require many different forms, abilities, and passives to get gold. Therefore at best, this is mid game (~10 to 20 hours in) content, but probably closer to end game for many (>20 hours). No new dungeons. You cannot progress new unlocked forms in the colloseum. Last unlocks are a new summon and 4 dungeon chest. Difficulty on par with new game plus dungeons, and that difficulty comes from the puzzle like aspect of finding the 'best' build for a challenge rather than reflexes. $5 feels about right, but it's not for new players since the new forms require challenge completion

Its your run of the mill 'challenge room' DLC.
I loved the base game for all 25ish hours, was hoping for more from the DLC. Prioritizes optimal builds over experimentations. Just left me a bit cold.

Game + DLC is great
I was pleasantly surprised with this game given it's a bit different than Guacamelee. It's great. Buy it. Play it. Love it.
