Ogre: Console Edition

I played the old game in the 80s and I'm happy to see this now. It's a lot of fun but so glitchy. Often freezes up, especially at the end of a game, never giving me the satisfaction of finishing. Also, the RGN die rolls are harsh. It should be statistically impossible to roll as many ones as I do in this game, yet the AI rolls an astronomical amount of fives and sixes. I can deal with that but the freezing issues are absolutely frustrating. ucdave1@gmail.com

Played OGRE and GEV back when Steve Jackson published The Space Gamer magazine. This captures that vibe really well. The basics rules aren't complicated, but allow for deep strategy. Controls are a little wonky and RNG feels slanted, but maybe I just suck. Glad i waited for a sale, though...base price is steep for what you get.

Only complaint in games when you run 2 ogres sometimes won't let you switch between them. So it indicates you can fire but looks at. First ogre and says weapons have already fired. So i fire 1 ogre and the other one can only move. Great potential for expansion i think they had aircraft,naval,gev-apc,gev-scouts,nuc carriers, laser batteries and cthulu ogres. Thanks for the game and memory.

From a couple of reviews i was hesitant on getting the game and i took a gamble i got to say i like the game very much but one star down from 5 because of the contols but heck i will get use to it. I dont own the board game but this got me interested. The detail top notch and if you are looking for a good turn base game then try this its under 25 bucks which is still cheeper then panzer corps 2 PC with no dlc cost. Dont expect dawn of war but game is simple to learn with a few quarks to learn controls. Its fun to chase a tank with gun out with ogre he he he. I look forward from future works from this company. Red vs blue lol. Also understand the lower rate reviews are pre patch same with pc version so give a try. We need more games like this and not some cheep pay to win online **** End of Nations wasted 100 bucks on that. One again 4 stars and a few days a 5. This is not a moble app game so 1 star was for that.
