One Dog Story
Big Way Games · Action & adventure · Platformer · Shooter
One Dog Story is an engaging pixel adventure game with RPG elements, gameplay that’ll get you hooked for hours. You wake up in an underground laboratory, free again after a horrific accident. Prepare to explore this expansive game world and its many secrets and mysteries.
Im very early on, but I can comfortably say that this is a fun little game. One Dog Story is a pretty simple action/platformer. It has RPG elements, but im not deep enough in the game to comment. Jumping and attacking feel better than average, to this point. It hasnt posed a challenge yet, but im only through the first hour. Im sure itll ramp up after some time, though. I love the art style, its what sold me on the game, initially. A dog wearing a hat and packing heat?!?! Yea, you know you want to give it a try! Its a very good budget indie title. I recommend and believe $15 is a comfortable price point. I had never heard of this developer beforehand and im glad i gave them a shot. Good job Big Way and thanks for the game! If anyone has any questions about the game, feel free to message me at any time! Have Fun!

Not as advertised
NOT an RPG by any means. No exp or skill system. Metroidvania look but linier. Find HP max upgrades on the map, and gear for things like double jump. Weapon damage upgrades are limited use random drops. Removing a star for false advertisement about being an RPG.
Issue 2: D-pad doesn't move like stick does. I prefer D-pad in platformers, but this game's starts slow then builds speed to move, and skids like classic Mario on ice in 6-1 of SMB when you stop. Stick movement, however, feels lighter, moves at full speed with no slow time, and stops instantly with no slide. No clue why that is so inconsistent, but another star off for it.
Update: Glitch where enemies' dead bodies sometimes deal damage to you. This can soft lock progress, forcing you to have to die if in a narrow passage and happens very often. Too often.
Sorry, but even for $3 this game is too linier, offers no reward for combat as it lacks any RPG elements or ability to backtrack. Boring generic story with no suspense.
