Path of Exile

You can play this game for absolutely free and have no hold backs. I'm old as poo and have played Diablo since it came out and can honestly say it far surpasses Diablo/hack and slash gameplay by far. I'm excited that it finally came to console but even more that it has stayed to the concepts of a free to play game, even while converting to console. Also if you pay for things it's more of a tribute to the developers anys. They did a great job making this game and deserve revenue too, plus you'll get some cool imagery with special effets.

I see other's complaining about the $400.00 cosmetics pack, which comes with 4000 points ($400) and 20+ cosmetic items ($200+), so I wanted everyone to know that you do not have to buy ANYTHING to play or enjoy this game to its fullest. Other than additional storage for your "bank", which has 6 large tabs as default and you can purchase an additional 6 tabs for 150 points ($15), all the purchase items are cosmetic only. I dont know why people look at the most expensive "item" on the store, out of several hundred items, and choose to give the game 1 star because of it. I also have not experienced any lag or disconnect issues with 50 down/5 up The game speaks for itself really but incase you were not convinced by all the stellar reviews let me tell you its one of the best looter RPG's out today. I will warn though it takes a lot of research to do the "end game" content but it can still be enjoyed as a casual looter RPG. Dont take my word for it though, the games free, try it yourself!

First this game is not p2w. You can purchase cosmetics, but none of the game content is locked behind a paywall. You can do EVERY single thing in game for FREE. If you are a fan of deep customization, lots of loot, and killing mobs like a god then this game is for you!

When I first downloaded this game, I thought to myself "oh boy; yet another free game no-one asked for, and is also probably a port of a f2p PC or mobile game" like Microsoft usually does. However, upon actually playing the game, I was immediately engrossed. It really does play like a free version of Diablo 3! The areas are large and distinct, as are the dungeons, the loot system is quite nice and varied, and there's a large selection of characters to choose from. The skill tree is absolutely massive, which allows you tailor your character to your playstyle, within the bounds of said character's role. As a bonus, the sound design and voice acting is great. Now to the downsides. The story, quests and characters are mediocre at best. They all act as a means to an end, not necessarily something you'd do just for fun. The game itself lags occasionally, and the load times can be quite long. And while the microtransactions aren't obtrusive, they're present. Overall, it's good, casual fun.
