Phoenotopia: Awakening

A solid Zelda-2 esque adventure platformer. The world design is done really well, with a bunch of areas to explore. Well written story with a nice variety of puzzles sprinkled throughout the game. I think the only thing I didnt care for in this game was the combat. The combat and platforming felt a little awkward at times, but not bad by any means. There is also a decent variety of approaches to encounters because of a various weapon/items available. Definitely worth the price.

There goes 3 weeks of my life. Well played

This amazing game was made with SO much love! The exploration is really enjoyable, and while the combat can be difficult at times, it's really fun once you get used to it. It kinda reminds me of Smash Bros, because there's teching, nairs, and special moves. The story was very gripping as well, I honestly did not want it to end. I beat it after 30 hours with only 58% completion, so there is still plenty to explore. The only gripe you might have is that some areas feel "too big". You'll explore a new city for 45 minutes only to go to the next screen and discover that there's the other half of the city on the other side lol. Anyway, INCREDIBLE game, cannot recommend it enough!

Never have I ever found such a beautiful, creative, and adventurous game like this! With the amazing pixel art, excellent design, huge world, intriguing mystery, and many unique characters, this game is an awesome hidden gem for those whose like to solve puzzles and play a long lasting game. I'm honestly not even done playing it and I'm already over 40 hours in! Not only that, but there are many activities you can do, like cooking, fishing, learning special moves from characters you meet, fun and rewarding side quests, and even getting your hair dyed (which all are important to the game). Though this is only a single player game, it's still very fun to play! "Phoenotopia: Awakening" is a hidden gem, and is honestly my new favorite game. Though I don't usually write reviews, this game is definitely well worth taking the time to write about it. I hope this game gets more publicity :)
