Im not a expert at this game, so no clue if you can edit characters. But if dlc isn't working load your game, press start button and click dlc. From there you can activate dlc such as hats and claim in mail :)

Awesome Expansion, and update for Portal Knights
A big Thank You to the developer for continuing to support Portal Knights with fun new rpg expansions, and new game play features. It gives players reasons to continue to play and create in Portal Knights, and earn new weapons, armor, mounts, and items. The mounts are awesome, and add to the game, the Furfolk, and new Druid class give players more options, and reasons to play through Portal Knights again. The new defend the relic mode is really fun new feature. Portal Knights gets better with each new update, I can't wait to see what new features, and gameplay you bring to the game in the future. Having large worlds would be great now that we have mounts.
