The trailer might lead you to think this is a metroidvania, but it isn't. It's more like Montezuma's Revenge with a gun. Great chiptunes, nes style graphics, even an in-game manuel with great art and backstory. But the movement is horrible. There's a delay between when you press right and when he moves. Also when you let go and when he stops. Feels like hes on rollerskates, or sliding around on the ice level in mega man. Needs a patch badly.

Why?????????????????????
Could be great....there is no power ups or upgrading...these guys make great games but this def needs more features and better controls and handling ...it also should be more forgiving...and im a mega man enthusiast

Near Unplayable Controls
As the title says, controls are near unplayable. The game has a lot of jumps and enemies requiring precise timing, but controls sluggishly and horribly. Maybe the actual NES controllers work, but the Xbox release doesn't. Could be the hosting engine, like Unity, but whatever the source, it should not have been released likee this.
Given the control difficulty, starting each life at only a third of your health is wrong. Life checkpoints are weird, as are the continues, but there seems to be no limit to the latter. I did not see any way to save, so you have to beat in a single sitting.
It wasn't fun enough to complete the second zone; I will pass on doing the rest.

Great Game By A Great Team
Pretty fun, but whats up with the character movement? Its not lag as much as it seems this may have been developed using a physics based platformer engine. Not the best fit for this style of platformer imho. If it were not for the controls feeling sluggish this game would be spot on.

You're my boy, Blue!
Standard retro style action platformer, built to played on actual NES hardware. The visuals and music in the game are pretty good but unfortunately the controls for the game feel slightly off, almost somewhere in between actual retro and a modernized retro style game. I also thought the bosses could use a little more variety.
Love the detailed user manuals that 8 Bit Legit includes in their recent games. Overall it's a decent game, but tough. Easy Achievements
