Random Heroes: Gold Edition

8 bit side scroller that reminds me alot of Ratalaikas Devious Dungeons series except for swords you have guns, you collect coins to unlock 20 different wepons, level design is the metroid/vania like style with secret rooms, quite a few gun to unlock not real hard, achievements are pretty easy, levels broken up into shorter levels, you can also unlock different hero's with different perks, Can't change wepons and heros on the fly and not have to go into menu or in the hero's case title screen menu. Decent & fun platformer to pass the time. *later levels can get tough and some wepons are expensive*.

A lot of posts comparing this to DEVIOUS DUNGEON...same developers but definitely a somewhat different play style, it's more of a linear run'n gun that plays like a MEGAMAN game whereas DEVIOUS is heavier on the hack'n slash rpg element, the graphics are similar though...the controls couldn't be simpler... move, jump, shoot that's all, kill bad guys, grind gold for more guns, it's pretty much all about the guns and unlocking goofy playable characters

The game is affordable, easy to pickup and play and the completion is quick. None of the achievements are hard in any way and the game is actually better than alot of their other games on the One. The game is 2 to 3 stars at best but I'm giving it an A for effort because you dont have to play most of the game for completion. 5 stars!

Guns are way too expensive for the higher powers, but game is very easy to beat even with the cheaper guns.

This game is good for a quick gaming session, or an entire afternoon. The retro graphics not only work, but fit perfectly with the story. I love the variety of characters, and weapons, and how this game is silly without being irritating. Loads of good clean fun.
