Retro Machina is a single-player action and exploration game set in a retro-futuristic universe. Experience the journey of a little robot as they solve intricate puzzles and begin unraveling the mysteries of a world long forgotten.
The story is good, the gameplay is challenging especially the puzzle elemant, the graphics remains me of late 1950s to early 1960s sci-fi pulp magazines, and got a killer soundtrack. But the game is too short and got one loose tie after the second boss fight that needs to resolve.

Mainly puzzle stuff...
I was hoping for a bit more random weapon 🔪, long range; kinda like Bastion. This is unfortunately no it, but still a decent puzzle 🧩 explorer

Very early first impressions
Steampunk is of no interest to me & atompunk is a new term I've just heard of because of this game, with same no interest in that either. That said, anything positive I mention is not because of that. If you just want to see some early clips, go to Xbox club Indie Game Hideout where I have just shared some clips.
Seems this is meant to be a chill game that is hoping to hook you in with it's relaxing atmosphere. Has a beautiful look, like you are playing in some nice paintings. That mixed with the nicely done ambient audio & relaxed (so far) gameplay seems like this is a game for a person that wants to escape into another world without the tension & stress of the real world. It's a slow burn, at least in the start, I'm only in Atomic City right now.
Controlling other machines & robot creatures are not a cumbersome mechanic like I was worried it would be. There's been some minor environmental puzzles & I hope that means a bit more complex ones will be a big part of this game later in.

Dystopian Jetsons nostalgia fuel
Combat and puzzles are actually hard af, but not rage bait. Art is effing gorgeous and never gets stale. Can get a tad repetitive. Devs clearly put a lot of heart into this, so i give 5 stars even though it should be 4.
Highly recommended for fans of the atompunk genre. If you're not, maybe wait for a sale.
