Salvation: Echoes of War

Enjoyed the game setting and atmosphere. Gameplay varity was good. Stealth action by nature, but puzzles and flying plane was fun.

This is not an A.I. game, exactly. AI tools were used on actual game assets to create some of the cutscenes. And the are ugly. Seems like music too maybe? Sadly, this is going to cost them sales. A ton of research has been done on public attitudes towards AI, and these studies show that gamers hate AI even more than the general populace. I've seen numbers above 80%. Corps get away with using it cuz enough people either can't tell or don't know enough about it to have learned to hate the way it's being used. Gamers are different. Enough of us know enough that its use will be noticably punished, especially for indie devs who have the morals to not lie about it. Google says the reasoning was that their small team faced a choice between plain text or using AI to tell the story the way they wanted. I don't fully get it, but it sounds like they don't much like the idea either, and that's why i gave the game a shot. If their next game doesn't use it, i'll try that too. If it does, i won't.

Cool concept and story! Would have loved to see this game have a bigger team and budget. It's a bit jenky at release but the jenk gives it character. Super disappointed AI was used though but solid first game. Only experienced one bug causing the game to crash but I didn't lose any progress whatsoever.

Not very good, a few interesting moments, but that is it.....

Oh man, I really liked this game. Wait a minute, I can't hide the fact that I was a little skeptical at first. But as the story and gameplay progressed, I started to enjoy the moments in the game. I didn't expect it to be an action game, but it was really tense in places, with its stealth and chase sequences. It has really nice art, better than many indie games i played, and it has some really cool music. If you're into non-shooter indie games, this game is 100% worth trying.
