SAMURAI WARRIORS 5

In DW2-5/6, you were part of a large scale battle where each encounter meant something. You started low, with nothing, and clawed your way to the top to earn your powerful combos and weapons. Infantry was part of the battle, worth spending time KOing, clearing the field of the enemy. Now you start as a superhero, all powerful, press one button to kill 100 troops, snoozefest. Individual infantrymen mean NOTHING. You wade through them like a waist high lake. When you START the game, you only have to press Y and you're throwing magic blades everywhere, it's not even challenging to KO 500 guys. In DW2/3, killing 1000 men was an achievement. Now it's just another Tuesday. I may be in the minority here but I miss how challenging the old games were, how grounded they felt. Now I feel like a Gundam shooting magic sword lasers all over the place. Infantry may as well not exist, the only challenge is in the officers. What happened to this franchise? Never again.

I have played tons of Warriors games and spinofffs, going all the way back to the PS2, up to and including the Nintendo exclusives. But this is my first in the Samurai series. I understand its a soft reboot of sorts. My thoughts are that it doesn't break the mold like DW9 tried to do. Instead, gives you probably the tightest traditional Warriors experience I've played so far. The art style was fantastic, high and stable framerates (30fps games give me headaches), and a wonderfull cast of characters. But I rate only 4 stars, because the game isn't perfect. Also, to the reviewers knocking the game because it isn't hardcore like they were on the ps2, bruh, all rhe Warriors games have been like this for over a decade lol, like I'm happy you climbed out from under your rock to play the newest Samurai Warriors game, but its been like this.

Fantastic warriors entry. Content is a little lacking. Art direction is amazing! Could use a few more characters and weapons though. Overall though if you like warriors games or hack and slash then you will love this!

Great game so far. The art, Voice acting, skill trees, endless levels. Devs nailed it with this game. Citadel is broken lol. Can easily level my characters there. I lost hope for Dynasty Warriors but Samurai Warriors brought the passion of haack & slash. Couldn't find a new game worth playing until I discovered this gem!

I like the art style, but feels short. I miss each warrior having their own campaign.
