SELF: Where's my father

This is a wonderfully slow-paced psychological narrative, similar to a visual novel but far more minimalistic in presentation. Think older Suda51 (The Silver Case especially). Some narrative choices involve basic gameplay where you get the green things and avoid the red, or vice versa, and I get slight hints of Kiss or Kill from these sections. The writing is very well done and the plot is fascinatingly surreal. This is definitely an example of games as art and I just wish more indies were this creative with their storytelling and presentation.

BUY IT NOW. BETTER THAN CLAIR OBSURE EXPEDITION 33. 1. Great art 2. Great acheivment hunting, not too easy not too hard 3. Story is great you kinda have piece it together yourself but i do like it 4. HOLY GOD OF SOUNDTRACKS every moments song just fits so well i love it 5. Cool mechanics i love the mini games

An engaging, well written story that makes you care. Plenty of endings to explore, so there is a bit of a game here. Love obviously went into this. There should be more games like this.

I played through to 4 or 5 endings and was pretty bored with nothing making any sense. This nonsense basically made decision making feel pointless. Calling something Kafkaesque just because its weird and follows no logical path isnt something I want in a game. I guess they somewhat tie it together after a lot of seemingly meaningless and silly running around, but by that time I was only playing to get to different endings not because of any enjoyment. If you want to classify this as "art", I guess anything can be, it doesnt necessarily mean its fun, entertaining or particulary worth your time. The average rating is weirdly high for this imo.

Game really does have several endings and one of them is a "happy" ending that can be done in under a minute, lol. It's funny, has to do with not wanting to get out of bed is all I'll say. I'll try to write something more later if I don't forget. When this says headphones are recommended, wow, listen and if you don't have any, get some. It's night and day difference playing this with them. It will go from just okay without them when you first start to this sounds like it's gonna be great when starting with them. There are some visuals in this, it's not all text though the visual stuff is simple. I think I'm gonna dig this title once time permits me to put some proper play time into it.
