Sylvio

I never thought I would see the day when someone would make a open world game about ghost hunting someone has and once you get past the low budget quality of the game you'll be treated to something creepy and campy.

I will be playing it again to unlock some achivements. The most time consuming thing was the EVP message decodeing. Loved the graphics because the story drew you in. Reminded me of old school gaming.

Sylvio is good, slowburn horror. Reminds me a lot of From Software's old Echo Night series. But while the PC version has had years of developer attention with patches and updates, the Xbox version has issues that were fixed long ago. The big one is the bug where you die randomly cuz you cannot see the ghosts. Wish this got patched.

There's a game who surprised me, Sylvio was made with great care, because isn't everyone can tell ghosts story. For those who like Fatal Frame (like me) will enjoy the story Sylvio has to tell, with a interesting recording function. Like all indie games, Sylvio has some bugs, specially the car, but, nothing seriously to make you throw the joystick away like some others indies out there. If the second game is released with more mysteries and a enhanced and better combat, it will worth coming back to the blood mist of Sylvio.

If you're a fan of old 3D computer games from the 90s, this one will work for you. Endearing gameplay and graphics. Very "mess around and find your way through levels" type of game. This has old school level design, very open areas that you can get through doing the minimum but theres much more to discover if you're a completionist. Plot is fairly loose but works. You're just searching around for ghosts and learning their history. No crazy world-ending **** going on here. Slightly buggy, like car physics, but only inconveinent at worst. Had no crashes or being forced to reload/replay levels.
