The Dark Eye Bundle

This game is a port of a lackluster remake of a classic german PC RPG. The difficulty is on par with the classic game, the mechanics are pretty damn complicated, so if you're going to play it - read a FAQ or watch a walkthrough. Unfortunately even at the time of the original remake release the graphics were pretty ugly. They moved on from pretty 2D art to ugly and blocky 3D. Also the VO is ... well... bad. I still have a place in my heart for this game as Realms of Arkania 2 back in the day was my first RPG that i've ever played, which started my life-long love for the genre.

I had fun the first couple hours pouring through the dozens of stats, skills, and spell. Unfortunately combat is ATROCIOUS. The graphics are barren, you can barely see "damage numbers" and health bars, there's no combat text log, animations are bare existent. Working with low hit % is doable, you just need to specialize at first. Menus and inventory are glitchy. I wish it was 2D instead (like Wizardry) so I could just enjoy the rest of the game. Maybe play the 90s version instead?

The game breaks a third of the way through and the dev cant fix it. Buggy and unfinished

let me start this off by thanking the team that brought this gem to console with the hope that it is patched to being fully functional and possibly bringing more pc rpgs over like wizardry8 wink wink. This a enjoyable crpg from a time long past where actual roleplaying was part of rpgs sleep, hunger illness and desease are some of your greatest enemies as well as the skill levels of your characters while trying to perform about any action, these are some of the things i love from these old rpgs. whats wrong and will hopefully will be fixed in a patch, menu glitches like when a old lady meets you on the road to sell you wares if you choose more then what you can afford and you wont no until after which is a funny little event but the menu wont let you put anything back so you get stuck in a loop and have to reload your game,or also on the map you randomly get a prompt whether you like like to continue on go back or camp here and no matter what nothing happens and you have to reload

I've been wanting to play this game again for over 20 years. It might not be a new and up to date seizure fest like a lot of modern games are, but compared to the original, this is a welcome improvement. I absolutely love it, so far. If you aren't old enough to have played the original pc version, this game might make you grump out like a baby. If you are old enough to have played the original, then you might enjoy this as much as I am. This is honestly a dream come true, for me.
