The Forbidden Arts
Stingbot Games · Action & adventure · Platformer
The Forbidden Arts is an action adventure platformer with a focus on discovery and exploration. You play as Phoenix, a young boy who seeks to master the element of fire in a grand adventure of ancient magic.
It is clunky and laggy and does not have a big 3-D open world like the trailer and pictures make it seem. It's a crappy side scroller with small, glitchy 3-D hub areas. This game is not fun and definitely not worth your time nor money.

Tedious
The title says it all. Game very unpolished and frustrating to play. Cant say i had fun. Just powered through hoping it would get better. It did not.

The fire represents how much of a hot mess this is
I would love this game if it wasn't such a disaster...
Let me explain
The controls are inconsistent as in they work half the time. Instead of trying to fix it, they put checkpoints AFTER EVERY JUMP. A lot of places require you to double jump or wall jump to get to them but when your jump stops working and you fall into spikes below 5-10 times in a row because of poor programming, you lose your drive to try. Enemies hurt you all the same amount. If you fight a warewolf or jump into a bat it's all the same... LAZY! Plus your attack just stops working for no reason. 3 hits and you die. There's no penalty because you spawn right where you died essentially. You can't fullscreen the map. Some things that are logically possible to climb or jump over have invisible barriers for no reason. This was after the first two levels. I can't stand when people patch games like this! If you want to fight against shotty controls in a partially rendered environment, then this would be perfect for you

Fun and different
Played and beat the game. It was a nice change of pace. If you like a light platform game then i recommend this game. Easy gamerscore, if you invest a little time. 4 stars for length, was a little short, but was worth playing for something different.
