The Sinking City 2 – Deluxe Edition

As soon as you control the main character you immediately feel the jankyness of part 1 movement COMPLETELY gone. WOW Its like a night and day difference. The boat you use to travel controls smoothly and doesnt randomly get stuck to things in the water. The game feels so polished from the movement to the visuals. The pacing of missions are much better as well. If you liked part 1 you will absolutely love this sequel. They got rid off stuff that bogged down part 1 and improved everything that was decent and made it better in every way.Feels like the budget went from AA TO AAA.👍

First off: You don't need to play the first game; this has a new lead character, setting, story, and genre! This is high quality pre-RE4 style survival cosmic horror. This wasn't what I was expecting outta a sequel of the first game at all, but as a fan of older RE games, Silent Hill, Evil Within, and Alone in the Dark, I was sooo pleasently surprised 😁

If you enjoy detective games, third person horror, or lovecraft in any capacity, get this game. And if you were the kind of person who played the first game but found it lacking in certain areas (especially when it came to its combat and graphics) the sequel has made huge improvements, including replacing its stiff combat with something more akin to Alan Wake 2. Highly recommend.

I struggled to stay interested in SC1, janky combat, meh charecters.....Absolutely not the case here. Well done! 5 hours in and my other games are on the back burner. Slava Ukraini!

It takes plenty of the Frogware narrative expertise and mixes it with evil within and a touch of modern RE. True, it is a major change of pace for Frogs, but... man this is good. And i say this as someone who adores Sinking City 1 and the Holmes games, isn't the biggest fan of horror for horror's sake, AND was a little worried when i heard they were going full Survival Horror, and making the mystery aspect, previously the core mechanic of their library of games, optional. But in practice what that means is that this ostensible Lovecraftian survival horror has more mechanical depth than most horror games would even consider attempting. Their hard won skill at crafting fun, playable mysteries adds so much intrigue and detail to the normal survival horror blueprint that it makes many of the genre's other entries feel almost shallow in comparison. Hard to believe this game was made during an ongoing war.
