Good story, GREAT atmosphere. Combat definitely lackluster, but fun enough. Navigating and figuring out where to go next canbe confusing at first but you get the hang of it pretty quickly. I'll buy the sequel if it comes.

Best HP Lovecraft so far
Pros
Great story. Great ambience.
Cons
Repetitive gameplay. Movement can be difficult especially in the boat. Combat is a bit clunky. Finally, some of the clue serching newspaper and police station needed more guidance.

Open-World Call of Cthulhu
Does a pretty good job making investigating fun. Combat is secondary to that, and there could be more content creatures-wise. The storyline is great, with good dialog and memorable characters. As the first game in this potential series, it has more strengths than weaknesses, and reminds me of Fallout in how it delivers a pretty unique and standout world to explore. Best Lovecraft game since Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth. I've bought it for Xbox One, PC, and Series X. Thank you Frogwares... keep your heads down over there.

Cthulhu Detective Game
Sunken City is decent game. It plays out similar to those Sherlock Holmes detective games but with lovecraft references thrown about as well as some semi-clunky combat mechanics. I’ve seen some bad reviews for this game claiming it’s not very fun because there aren’t waypoints to show you where to go. That isn’t the case for me. I’ve found it fun trying to figure out where to go next, and it honestly isn’t as hard as people make it seem. If you’re looking for a third person shooter game, this is going to let you down. If you enjoy exploring or lovecraft lore then you’ll find this game pretty fun. Also while the combat isn’t the best, it’s also not as bad or stiff as gameplay videos make it seem. Overall I’d give it a 7/10 or a 4/5 depending on what scale you want to use.

Spooky potboiler with great detective mechanics
Just make sure you buy the S/X version published by Frogwares, not the company that tried to steal it.
