The Swindle

I love roguelikes, but this one is just punishing. From the skill purchasing system to the perpetual countdown, none of this amounted to a fun experience. Either I'm far more rubbish at stealth games than I realized in 30+ years of gaming, or this game is only for the OPs and those glutton for tedium, aggravation and misery.

I adore this game! The abilities are all fun to use and make you look at each scenerio in a new exciting way. BUT occasionally jump and mid-air control just dont work, almost always causing death or being spotted. And I wish wall clinging was on a button instead of being automatic.

A must buy if you enjoy a difficult roguelike, despite some dodgy controls that take a while to feel natural. Very few games give such a thrilling heist experience, and the soundtrack may be one of the best in recent memory.

Progress in this game is so slow its painful. Everything you spend hours working towards, from character development to simply making money, is hard earned. Only, to have it all stolen away from you after falling way short of meeting the deadline. The feeling one gets from this disaster isn't like what you get from a failed run at binding lsaac, deadcells, or risk of rain, in were you smile, knowing you had a good run, then give it another go. Instead, it's like the feeling of looking upon what remains of your home after it's been burned to the ground. Why do anything in life knowing that in time you're going to loose everything that you worked so hard for? That being said, if your a gamer that dosen't have a shred of common sense then by all means buy this game. Otherwise, avoid it at all cost.
