Trepang2 - Digital Deluxe Edition

I have put 80+ hours into this game since it's release and have enjoyed every second. The few flaws it has can easily be overlooked by how ****** it makes you feel from start to finish. Trepang Studios wear their inspirations on their sleeves and this small team has crafted one of the most fun shooters I have ever played. The gunplay is the star of the show. Play aggressive, tactically, and take advantage of the Focus and Cloak mechanics. You will be able to create many, Many, MANY brutal moments where you can clear a room full of enemies in seconds. John Wick would be proud. One last thing I would like to highlight that I feel doesn't get enough love is the soundtrack. The action is perfectly paired with chunky low tuned riffs and bass thumping drums. Reminiscent of bands like Meshuggah, Periphery, and Northlane. Brandon McKagan's work is on par with what Mick Gordon has done on DOOM. TrepangStudios delivered us one hell of a game and I can't wait to see what they'll do next.

Was worried it might get a rushed, ½-*** port (40K Hired Gun lol). Thankfully though, it is basically perfect & so damn FUN! Muscle memory nitpick: LT is Grenades not ADS (co-op would also be nice), but the gunplay is more DOOM than CoD, hence de-emphasized ADS. T²'s a modernization / homage to F.E.A.R.; everything from the aesthetic, sound design (enemy callouts) to gameplay (Slow-Mo Ability). It's meant to be played like it, too— or even like DOOM '16, like "Ok, so I need to kill 2 dozen hostiles in one room. I've got a SPAS-12, Bullet Time, Cloak, Slide / Kick. Those are knockdowns, so I can take meatshield, stealth execute, or plant a nade on 'em, then YEET?" Trepang² is an S-Tier, indie single-player FPS. It's how I always WISHED my 360/X1 shooters would look & play back then! SO, Series X? Must Play! I've waited 3 months to play this ever since I heard it was on PC. And it does not disappoint; sometimes reminds me of BLACK for the OG Xbox.. You should mention to everyone that you are adding a multi-level horde mode in the near future like the PC version just got.. It will help your sales ;-)

I usually do kinda long and detailed reviews but not this time. There is nothing more I can add to this conversation that other people haven't said. The game is intense, insane, and incredible. Buy it, like right now. You won't regret it. Update: Rage mode got hands.
