Vampire: The Masquerade - Shadows of New York

This is one of those games, that just simply put, surprised me. I honestly fell in love with it's story telling. I only put off not playing the other ones in the series due to the negative reviews, but considering some of the reviews i've seen for GREAT films, I think I might actually go ahead and ignore them. I'm actually curious if these guys have ever colaborated with the "Life is Strange" crew. To see those writers and game designers mesh with each other would be a thing of Beauty. Honestly, this is just a wonderful interactive story book, that keeps you invested. I know it's not "that type" of game, but I would like to see more game interaction, in future ones. But it's your game, I'm just along for the ride. "Keep Moving Forward."

At its best, it's like Coteries with attitude. It's more stylish and the protagonist has personality. Unfortunately your enjoyment is going to largely depend on if you like the protagonists personality, and it's not the easiest to swallow. She's all the worst traits of "Im not like other girls" vapid self-insert, which could work great in an RPG, except Im not the one who chose her. All in all, I enjoyed it as one story in the larger WoD universe, but she detracted from it being a fave.

If you are a fan of WoD you probably will like this story.

Waaay better than Coteries of NY. Better writing and overall feeling of the clan. Unmuddied waters asit were. Good lore. Could have used a few more choices. Good ending means embracing you clan values. Hope was...less Malkavian tho???

Pretty boring compared to the Coteries game. Love the visual tho...
