Verho - Curse of Faces

I haven't had a game enamor me like this since Elden Ring. The story is interesting from start to end, the atmosphere is unmatched, the combat is simple but never felt boring, and the soundtrack and sound design is on point. I feel the need to point out just how wonderful it is that exploration is rewarded so greatly, and the equipment/items being genuine objects worked miracles on my immersion. I did run into some issues with area announcement text being cut off, and achievements I'm sure I earned not triggering, but I'm sure that'll be ironed out and it ohly gives me more reason for another playthrough.

Thank you devs for porting this to console so quickly! You guys rock! This is the 2nd official Kingsfield-like on console, standing strong next to Labrynth of the Demon King! Cheers!

I've been hoping for another King's Field game on console since completing it on the og PS. This game really nails the feel down to the way you search for secret rooms and level up. Just a perfect love letter to the classic. Don't let the graphics fool you. This is well polished gameplay. Sooo good.

Now we just need Lunacid!

UPDATE 8/8: After about 40 hours I finished my first playthrough, and I still enjoyed the game, but roughly 1/4 of all achievements are currently bugged and not popping, possibly more. If that is something you care about, keep that in mind until hopefully a patch happens. I'm enjoying the game, looks and runs good, tries to give that old school feel. If you are familiar with King's Field it is similar to those but easier all around, at least on starting difficulty. Only real/big complaint is some of the voice work is pretty bad (looking at you blacksmith snake) but this also isn't a AAA game so it isn't a deal breaker. Thanks devs for bringing it to console, hope to see more from you.
