VirtuaVerse

the achievements for this game show that 70% of ppl who played it couldn't figure out how to get out the first and second areas 😂 i made it to area 4 because i watched a walkthrough but even WITH the guide, i couldn't get past the Cubus Club 🤦‍♀️ this is a cool game and i really wanted to love it but even on story mode, i was wandering around clueless about what to do next 🤬 it's just too confusing to enjoy 👎 try it out when it's $4.99....and i hope we get VirtuaVerse 2 but more choice driven and less linear confusion 👌

"This is our generation's form of nuclear power. How we deal with this will be the stuff of history." Is this the shape of things to come? Our corporate overlords streaming augmented virtual reality pop-up ads over our vision. Oh sure, you can take them off, but FOMO draws you right back in. Sound familiar? Space Quest 1, on 5.75" floppy disks, was the first video game I owned. VirtuaVerse scratches that itch, once again. This game is oozing nostalgia for my tired, old eyes. Bravo. Now I just have to resist the urge to look up game hints online, which was not a problem back in the mid 1980s. The game offers just enough hints on its own; you just have to remember to retread old ground if you get stuck.

Begining was neuromanceresque. Then the main character becomes a simp. Eventually the story devolves into scifi-psychedelia and then ends badly. The dialogue is pure garbage. The puzzles are bizzare, like panties to make a torch...wat?

Stunning visuals drenched in cyberpunk neons. A killer soundtrack. Story is a slow build but *goes places* in the final acts. Some of the puzzles are brutal, but there's an easy difficulty. Easy 1000G w/ a guide, but worth noting it's ~10 hours long.

Any old school adventure gamer must give this a try. Its slick, its got an amazing soundtrack and the puzzles are the right amount of challenging while also logical and make sense. One thing i think id like to see though is an option to highlight items around you. but as long as there isnt any crazy pixel hunting it should be ok.
